What can herbal medicine help with?
Conditions I can work with include but are not limited to:
Digestive issues
Skin complaints
Respiratory problems
Musculoskeletal disorders
Mood and anxiety
Sleep related problems
Urinary infections
Women’s health
Allergies and hayfever
Headaches and migraines
Circulatory issues
Each person is individual and every case is different. After an in depth consultation a herbalist will offer a tailor-made treatment plan usually involving a selection of herbs either as tinctures, capsules, teas or powders. Nutrition and lifestyle are also addressed.
What is a medical herbalist?
A medical herbalist is a fully qualified practitioner who uses plant based medicine to support and restore health. Training is at Bachelor of Science (Bsc) level and involves a minimum of four years full time study, including over 500 hours of supervised clinical practice.
Amongst other subjects, we learn in depth anatomy and physiology, pathology, nutrition, pharmacology and prescription formulation. Medical herbalists are clinically trained to assess patients thoroughly and safely. We are qualified to work alongside existing medical conditions and prescribed medications, and understand potential interactions between pharmaceutical drugs and herbal medicines.
This integrated approach allows medical herbalists to provide safe, informed and personalised care.
